So today I did my taxes. I have had the same tax guy for all of my adult life. In fact, he was the tax guy for my Dad before I was even born. I see this man once a year, and each year he tells me about all the adventures he had the last year as he is a world traveler. This year as I walk into his office he asks me a very valid question for my life and his knowledge of me (considering the fact he knows every occupation I ever had) , he asks ” So, Diana , what are you up to now ?”.
Some of you may think there’s nothing wrong with that question and there isn’t , but what he went on to say is , he knew I no longer worked my big girl safe job and had become a missionary last year and was wondering if it was the same story this year ( because I tend to be somewhat of a job hopper ). And I explained I am still a missionary and a writer and always will be , the difference between what I do now and what I did then. Is that those were jobs and what I do now is my purpose . There is no retiring for what I do . I’m not looking to ever stop . I’ll stop when I die.
So I explained what I am up to and He asked what religion am I a missionary for. I explained I’m not religious but I am a missionary for God I serve the body of Christ/church as a whole not buildings ,he gave me a shocked look and said he will be waiting for my documentary.
I am not sure if what will ever happen but , there will always be a story to tell because the life of. Faithfull servant of God is full of adventures! It is exciting, it can be over whelming at times but God’s gives us nothing we can’t handle especially if we asked for it , prayed for it and God gives it to us, we should know with His power and strength we can and will accomplish each and every assignment He gives to us .
What are you up to ? Are you doing what pays the bills or are you doing what you have been called to do? Do you love what you do ? Or do you loathe what you do ? I pray you reflect on these questions and change your life accordingly
