You saw right through me

The words from my mouth
couldn’t hide the real me

All you had to do was search my heart

Look into my eyes

And you could tell

That I with you was satisfied

Despite the hurt

The confusion

I had before

In spite of  the doubt

And the times

When I didn’t act like I was your girl

At the end of the day

You meant the world to me

I did  the best for you and me

You searched my heart

Wrecked my spirit

And you saw

I would do it all again

I would lose every friend

Every penny every dime

Every thing in this life

If it meant I could  see you smile

So despite my choice of words that at times may not be the best

You can see it

When you look at me

Into my eyes

That you light the fire

Of the soul inside
