I’m not the type of chick
To assume because you paid for dinner
This was a date
I’m not the type of girl to expect a man to hold all doors open for her
I’m not naive
I know my fella will eventually lie
I’m not a downer
I will pray even if it doesn’t work out
That He will only get the best in life
I’m the kind of girl with
Chuck’s on my feet
Curls in her hair
And the bible next to me
The kind who worries less and prays more
Expects less from people
And loves them more
Because God has changed my world
Being a believer didn’t make dating any easier
It made it harder
Because it’s not about who I like
And so called chemistry
It’s about matching my rib
With the man God has hand selected for me
Its about mingling souls
And having parallel destinies
Full of adventure
Full of joy abundant peace
A partner to walk this path with me

So if you paid for dinner

I appreciate the gesture
If you opened the doors thank you
That was super kind of you
But if you want something more

To be open with your feelings
