World
I’m not getting any younger
But my spirit has not grown older
My soul seeks wisdom
But my mind wants understanding
My heart wants acceptance
My body needs strength
These are the thoughts and desires of a chick
Whose on a Chase
I’m chasing the Lord
The world is chasing me
The Lord wants me to be still
The world wants me to be busy
Not to think of what I’d be losing
If I became so called free
Too busy to see that the grass where they are standing is artificially green
It’s easier to move for me
My hands like to keep busy
But my feet need to stay still in peace
Until my temple is restored and I’m fueled for the next race
It’s not the season for running
It’s the season for practice
To grow in diligence
In patience
In wisdom
In knowledge
In my talents my gifts in understanding
And as the seconds the minutes the weeks the months the years go by
I haven’t felt any older than the moment I came to Christ
As a child ready and willing to learn of this way
And now I’m walking along the way not as a child but a soldier
Being called to be positioned in a new place a new season
Fighting not the wars of this world
But the spiritual
Battles
with God’s mighty awesome
Ever true
ever fervent
