Somebody told me yesterday
I was the same that I’ve always been
I started doubting myself
And forgetting who my God is
I was thinking have I really changed
Is this person right about me
Then I realized ,
This someone knows alot about me

But They don’t know the God I serve
And though I walk with the flesh
The spirit is my guide on this Earth
They don’t know who I used to be
Was chained down spiritually
Now chasing and loving. In liberty
But they will never know this about me
Until they know the God who saved me
And it reminded me of the inner me
Who likes to tell me that sometimes
It temps me to react like the old times
But had I been the same chick
My reaction would have been different
But I humbled myself , laced up my chucks
And just sat there praying
And reminding myself that though they grew up with me
They haven’t grown with me
Those with ears know what I mean They dont know the God I serve
And though I walk with the flesh
The spirit is my guide on this Earth
They don’t know who I used to be
Was chained down spiritually
Now chasing and loving. In liberty
But they will never know this about me
Until they know the God who saved me
In my short life I’ve come to this truth
It’s harder to change with the same old crew
In this life this truth I’ve come to know
It’s harder for a prophet to be welcomed in their own home
And this life of Christ isn’t easy
It’s a choice that we choose on the daily
Believe the world or believe our God who says
With Him we are overcomers
We do not walk in our flesh
We are transformed ,renewed ,replenished
So when someone tells you who you are on this Earth
Remember beloved
The God that you serve
But They dont know the God I serve
And though I walk with the flesh
The spirit is my guide on this Earth
They don’t know who I used to be
Was chained down spiritually
Now chasing and loving. In liberty
But they will never know this about me
Until they know the God who saved me
I pray one day they will come to know the God I serve . The God who saved me .
