🖤Ecclesiasticus 2:1-18
[1]My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation.
[2]Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste in time of trouble.
[3]Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be increased at thy last end.
[4]Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient when thou art changed to a low estate.
[5]For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity.
[6]Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way aright, and trust in him.
[7]Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not aside, lest ye fall.
[8]Ye that fear the Lord, believe him; and your reward shall not fail.
[9]Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good, and for everlasting joy and mercy.
[10]Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him?
[11]For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering, and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction.
[12]Woe be to fearful hearts, and faint hands, and the sinner that goeth two ways!
[13]Woe unto him that is fainthearted! for he believeth not; therefore shall he not be defended.
[14]Woe unto you that have lost patience! and what will ye do when the Lord shall visit you?
[15]They that fear the Lord will not disobey his Word; and they that love him will keep his ways.
[16]They that fear the Lord will seek that which is well, pleasing unto him; and they that love him shall be filled with the law.
[17]They that fear the Lord will prepare their hearts, and humble their souls in his sight,
[18]Saying, We will fall into the hands of the Lord, and not into the hands of men: for as his majesty is, so is his mercy.🖤

Beloved , it wouldn’t be a true devotional for tabernacles without a passage from a book taken out of the bible , (by men). Just like our Holy Days were taken from us , so was this passage above. Some may call the missing books the “Apocrypha” I call them what they are , the bible. This passage above is necessary to strengthen us in this walk of Faith beloved. It is so powerful I couldn’t pick just one verse from this chapter so I shared the whole chapter. And I pray for us to take the time to today and reflect upon this passage line upon line and precept upon precept. I pray for our confidence to grow in The Most High as we read this passage , I pray for our fear to grow in The Most High, I pray we seek what pleases Him. The same way if we care for someone on this earth we take the time to know their likes and dislikes how much more with our first love should we seek to know what He likes and dislikes and aim to please Him.

Truly beloved , pay attention to the first verse that sets the tone , as we come to serve our Lord , we must know temptation is guaranteed. It isn’t going to happen “sometimes” it will happen everyday . Satan will use many things to distract us and tempt us away from serving our Father in heaven, tempt us from becoming like Christ , tempt us from loving according to 1 John 5:3. And those temptations can come , like jobs, people, things , and even thoughts and dreams. I pray we understand that if doesn’t glorify The Father in heaven, it’s not from the Father in heaven. We must prepare our souls for the temptations to come , we must know what our weaknesses and lusts are in the world, and have precepts to fight them, we must choose wise friends and counsel we must come to the Father as a child receiving instructions and believing they are in our best interest and following them, as well as His protection and peace but be like soldiers, ready to die for what we believe , enduring until the end of the battle or death because this is a spiritual war, every day all day there are angels fighting , Christ is mediating , the Holy Spirit is teaching , the Father in heaven is planning, protecting and providing for those that are His.

So I pray we cleave to Him. I pray we cheerfully follow the laws and commandments. I pray believe in Christ and The Father in heaven and place all of our trust in The Most High. I pray we humble our hearts in His sight , I pray we do not fall into the temptations of the flesh and give ourselves over to the men of this world and their wicked devices but fall into the grace of The Most High that we fall into His hands of mercy and justice and truth and majesty , I pray we faithfully , cheerfully and with a smile armour up everyday with that spiritual armour (Ephesians 6) and fight the good fight with joy knowing that if we fear the Lord, trust the Lord , and follow Christ , the light , the truth and the way. We will make it through the gates , we will please our Father in heaven, and we will hear Him say, well done my good and faithfull servant. There may be grace for the ignorant, but that won’t happen for those who willingly, and cheerfully sin choosing to forsake the laws statutes and commandments.
I pray for mercy on us all
For us All to endure temptations and stay faithfull to The Most High until the end .
