Coals of fire (poem) by Dayanah Ahmawanah 💕
🖤
If you stab me in the back
I’ma massage yours
If you betray me
I’ma walk cautiously
But I’m forgiving
So there won’t be any grudges for me
If youre hungry
I’ll feed you
Whether I like you
Or don’t like you
If youre thirsty
I’ll buy you a drink
Not the kind to take you under
But the kind to hold you over
Because that’s the Christ in me
And those coals of fire
on your head
That comes with confusion
Because your wondering
How someone like me
Someone you tried to make weak
Could still be joyful and at peace
In the suffering
That’s what conviction feels like
I pray you examine your pride
And come before The Most High.
And walk in the spirit of Christ before it’s too late ,
Choose Eternal Life ,
This I pray for you ,
I would never wish the lake of fire for you
Or for anyone , I know ,
So even though you placed this knife in my back
I’ma massage yours , like I should
Because I won’t be overcome by evil
But overcome evil with good
🖤
