Oh Father in heaven
I thank you for your gift
Of precept upon precept
That falls into my heart
And upon my soul
It fills me
And satisfies me
But always leaves me wanting more
For there is always more to learn
For your knowledge and understanding I yearn
So when it is my turn
To open my mouth
And speak
I will judge righteously
And please the cause
Of the poor and needy
That my words
And my reactions
Will glorify you
Not be distractions
These are my prayers
By faith I will put into action
For by grace we can be saved
By faith, we will stay saved
By faith we stay sane
In an insane world
Full of suffering
And poverty
Wickedness
And darkness
But also there is light
Even in the darkest night
For you made the darkness
And the light
You define what is wrong
And gave truth to what is right
So Most High
