 Oh Father in heaven

I want to be like you 

Get angry like you do 

For being angry 

But sinning not 

Easier said than done 

I want my anger 

To only endure for a moment 

And forgive 

Others 

As quickly as I want to be forgiven

For we all have fallen short 

Of your glory 

And even the just man 

Falls seven times 

Not sure where I fall 

On that line 

For I think I am more 

Like 70 times 70 times 

So when someone 

Trespasses against me 

Let me have humility 

Remembering 

I too can fall 

I am not yet 

But in the  process 

Of being pure 

As I walk through this fire 

And trials endure 

Let me for the night weep

But in the morning your joy keep 

Because you are working on me 

And even while youre working

 I can have your peace 

I can have your joy 

These are treasures 

I don’t deserve 

But am grateful for 

So let me show it 

With my heart 

And my hands
