Poem/Praise for the Elders 💕

Ecclesiasticus 8:9

[9]Miss not the discourse of the elders: for they also learned of their fathers, and of them thou shalt learn understanding, and to give answer as need requireth.💕

Oh Father in heaven

I thank you for

Those that have come before me

Oh Father In heaven

I thank you for their wisdom

And testimonies

I will not forsake to heed

To their sayings

For they are filled

With understanding

For like them

I am eager to listen to my elders

For they also learned from their father’s

For every parable and proverb

Every commandment and law

Every story they tell

I keep stored in my heart

And when situations occur

They flow out and give me answers

When I am in need

Their testimonies guide me

In the way ,

Much foolishness I can avoid today

If I just heed what my elders say

They have so much value

So for them I pray ,

To know that

They are valuable

They are appreciated

And though not everyone will listen

This girl will ,

This girl does

And I will treasure each understanding that comes

From my elders ,
