Leaven- Sweet Savour- Poetry Devotional

1 Kings 8:63

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.”

So many oxen

So many sheep

But how many commandments

Did those people keep

How many of those hearts did you keep ?

How many in You truly truly believed

That these offerings of peace

Would truly grant them peace

Would truly give them liberty

From the transgressions they did

Willingly ?

That You would make them clean

And desire to execute  Your commandments perfectly

Because they gave you the oxen

And they gave you the sheep

But how many of these people

Gave you their hearts to keep ?

I pray when I offer my oxen, (prayers)

And my sheep (praises)

That when You see past them into this heart of me

It is a delight to You

And a savour so sweet

Full of leaven that is holy

Not made by the Pharisees

For this is the truth now

And even then

Out true sacrifice is our desires of the flesh

And there is no peace without obedience

With our heart and hands

For you see not just the outward appearance

But our inward man

Looking for Your Son’s reflection ,

As we only through Him can receive redemption and seek reconciliation

Believing we on earth can have perfection

And overcome temptations , trials and endure tribulations

For this man that endures until the end

This is the man that will get into the kingdom of heaven

If he seeks your rightoeusnness

With his heart and  hands

I pray Most High , I will be counted as one of them

As I don’t just seek peace but

Pursue it , don’t just want to do good

But do it ,

And offer my oxen (prayers)

And my sheep (praises)

Daily

As I dedicate to You  my body Your temple

For  in my heart I want You and Your Spirit comfortable

So that when You see inside the heart of me

You are pleased

And smell a savour so sweet

For eternity

Faithfully
