Proverbs 4:23

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

With diligence 

I keep 

This heart You have given to me 

Hidden beneath

The shadow of 

Your mighty wings 

I keep it surrounded 

By walls built by Your precepts my Lord

For fragile is this heart 

That You have given me my Lord 

And I have worked hard 

To keep it grounded in Your word 

Which is Your Son Christ 

For I know out of this heart

Are the issues of life

And before You gave me Your discipline 

I walked in the darkness 

And didn’t make the holiest of decisions 

Though even in  the world 

I did my best , 

Without Your righteousness 

I was still acustom to sin,

For without Your Son 

And without Your Love

I didn’t know the hurt 

And pain I had caused 

But now I know my best life 

Is a life in Christ 

For only through Christ 

Am I given light 

And the sight to walk through this night 

With a smile , 

Because You have blessed me with 

Wisdom , understanding and Knowledge 

So that I no longer am ignorant 

But sober and vigilant 

Wise like a serpent but my heart is kind like a dove

For I keep it full or Your love 

With all diligence 

Yes I keep 

This heart You have given to me 

Hidden beneath

By walls built by Your precepts my Lord

For fragile is this heart 

That You have given me my Lord 

But with Christ , growing inside 

Stronger each day does it become 

In Your word

So that better decisions 

I can keep making 

As Your Kingdom I keep seeking 

As diligent as this heart I am keeping

And Your righteousness
