Day 9: Home (Uganda) By- Diana M Jordan ♥
I can still hear the voices of the children
Singing a song with lyrics that say
“I am marching in the light of God”
As these beautiful dark-skinned beauties
Sing this song, God began to work in me
I began to feel the joy they felt
The passion they possessed
As they lifted their voices in worship
To the Almighty King
They barely knew English, they were no older than 6
They lacked shoes, toilets, and tablets
Yet they sang and praised God as if they were princes, and princesses
And when I left, I let every one of them know
They were loved, they were beautiful
And that they would be remembered and missed
As I boarded a plane to London and France
Not, thanking God for the life I was headed back to
But praising the Lord for the life He had called me to
A life of seasons, a life of love, a life
With a heart that beats like His, and sees His people as He does
And now that I am called back
I am excited to love again
To be loved again and to hear those voices sing again
As they dance down that red dirt road,
and I’ll be dancing and singing too
Happy to be Home
