Day 22: Poem/SIDEKICK: By Diana M Jordan ♥

You have always loved me 

You protect me

You place your shield stronger than captain America’s in front of me and save me from my enemies

You grabbed me in your arms like Lois lane with superman and flew me above the clouds 

And told me to look down 

And said I would never have to worry about falling again 

Because every time I jumped 

You would be there to catch me with your hands 

You saved my world like Optimus prime risking your life for mine and the entire world’s salvation 

And didn’t mumble a single word like bumble bee

You love me

Even more than these you love me 

There are many types of heroes 

They have endless stories to tell 

But there is not a story like the story 

You have placed me in 

The battles you have equipped me to win

This is no fairy tale I’m living 

The enemy is real, he is tempting, he is ruthless

And he is relentless

But you my God, my hero is limitless, your power is endless

These mountains I climb are high

The climbs and trials are spiritually draining yet refreshing at the same time 

These waters you part are deep yet somehow you give me the courage to take a step anyways and cross even though I can’t swim 

The clouds are plenteous, full of rain 

Yet you bring sunshine through each day 

You Lord are my hero 

Your love is the super power you have used to transform me 

So that I can to bring light to this world 

But, Not to be anyone’s hero that is your gig

I’m the unashamed sidekick
