Day 31: Spoken Word: Heart Change : By Diana M Jordan ♥

Years ago I began to pray 

For a heart change 

It was a spiritual surgery 

A real Awakening

I wanted my heart to Match yours 

In every single way 

I wanted to feel your joy 

I wanted to feel your pain 

What caused your heart to flutter

What caused it to suffer 

I wanted to be one with you 

But I knew that it would cost me 

I would lose a part if me

Or at least thats how I saw it 

I didn’t realize when I shed that layer of skin around my heart 

That it was dead 

And when the flesh fell , I was alive again

The heart began to be free to beat like it never had before 

And the person that I once called home 

Was now a stranger 

Because God I didn’t understand 

What true love was until I met you 

And then when I met you 

I began to appreciate those that have loved me 

Those who prayed for me 

I began to replicate that love 

Your love 

To each person one by one 

To each city one by one 

And each country one by one 

Every year my hearts beat gets more in sync with yours 

It’s desires become more aligned with yours 

It begins to break when darkness happens much like yours 

And now God

You have called me to be 

In a familiar place 

But with a heart change 

A heart that is for the better 

Because it loves better and harder 

And stronger kinder 

A heart filled with never ending peace

 And always present joy

A heart that is courageous brave and full of faith

Ready to face the enemy right in His face

3 years ago I began to pray

For a heart change

And my heart

Has never , ever , ever

Been the same
