This last day was a very busy day. Full of love and ministry. But just like everyone else, we all get those moments where we are maybe a bit little frustrated or overwhelmed. And today my niece relieved my spirits when in the mist of the inside being a bit overwhelmed. ( Just a bit) My God daughter in the back seat says, auntie did you know when you are mad, you still smile? And all of sudden any frustration that was there was gone and I was no longer overwhelmed. She says, auntie it’s okay, I do too. It’s a good thing.
Once again, I was reminded how powerful a smile is. How much a smile can impact someone. Even a child in the backseat of a car. To be honest I, didn’t even know I was smiling. what I knew was is that no matter what happened through out the day, or the pressure I felt my God was good, and I was most likely thinking that at the time, and often times when I feel myself get overwhelmed, I think of Gods promises and truths , because that is what calms my heart.
And so, my prayer is that the power of a smile grows and grows in this world. Last year I actually came up with an acronym for smile, for the ministry that I do. When I write my hope is to smile upon Gods people and to move them with the words He blesses me with . To paint pictures with the words from my pen. And so my acronym is …
S- See people the way God sees them
M- Mission – Minded
I – Illuminate the world
L- Love our neighbors as our self
E- Exhort the saints.
My prayer simply is that we all learn to smile more often.
What is your vision? Do you have a mission for the ministry that you do?
Have you smiled lately? Have you smiled today ?
