We all have choices in life. From the moment we wake up , to the moment we go to sleep. Even waking up and going to sleep are choices. From the moment we get up we can choose to pick up our phone , or say a prayer. Choose to go for a walk , or watch tv. Choose to visit someone we love , or do something for ourself. Choose to volunteer our time , or charge for our services. Neither of these choices are necessarily , bad choices. Most of our daily choices are not bad nor good. But so much more than that, what we choose to do with every inch of our time defines, ourselves. Our purpose, our assignments our relationships, how we choose to spend our time and with you , shows a reflection of who we are and what we value.

Tonight it was on my heart to pray for people to think carefully how they spend their time and with who. So often I see people spend so much of their time , fighting for things that will never change, instead of themselves being the change they want to see in the world. Instead of themselves being the light they wish to see, they become a version of the hatred or negativity they see. Fire can not put out fire, hate can not put out hate. Only love can cover our sins and only love can put out hate. God did not call us to fight for justice but to be just , and protect those who need protection. And I pray that we become bold as lions , and courageous and love hard.

I firmly believe if we spent more time loving Gods people and Loving Him, we would have no time to hate , we would have no time to care who hates us . Our hunger and desire to love would consume us and make us like Him, forgiving , and passionate and zealous. Beloved, who have you loved today ? Who have you shown love and forgiveness and compassion towards ?

When you wake up in the morning , do you reach for your phone , or do you reach for the Lord ?
