A true story

I was talking to this boy

On Saturday

I met him at the park

Who would have thunk

Some brownies would open up his heart

he talked about the Pastor He knew

And the preaching he endured

he said that’s why I am atheist

and I asked him , are you sure

so you believe in nothing I said

he said I believe there is a higher power

I believe we all have inside

I said so you believe you are God inside of your mind

he said he believes all religions are the same

and that they all have some good and some bad to what they say

he said the bible is just a book

but he thinks it might be true

he hasn’t read it much

hes only heard what has been said

and then he looked me in the eye

he opened up and said can I be frank

I said go ahead have your say

He said Christians are the worst

They judge you and hate you and think they are always better than you

And he thought I would be offended

He thought he had won , this time

But what I said next blew his mind

I said

Youre right

Those religious Christians, have agendas, what they say is true

But I simply came here to this park today

To say there is a God, and He loves you

And he said that he felt it

I knew in his eye he could feel it

The love inside of me that was spilling

So then a higher power then for sure you believe in

he said sort of , well maybe I guess

I said well honey , then you are no atheist
