My Hands – Sabbath Poem – 4/4/25 By Dayanah Ahmawanah ðŸ’•

Exodus 20:8

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy

Most High Ahayah

My hands

have been  working

my faith

has been building

your precepts

I am keeping

Like a treasure within me

They set me apart , keeping me Holy

Showing me the way so that I

with all of my strength

and all of my might

can  walk in this world of night

but  be a child of the light

so though I must work

and pay Cesar his due

I am always working to glorify you

And walk zealously

in the spirit and the truth, just like my Savior Christ

Who was a carpenter with His hands on earth

But it was always you He served , Holy Father

He did what He needed to fulfil the needs of the flesh

But He always had an eternal spiritual  mindset

And I want to be like Him

so  here I come

to this day

that in this world of uncertaintity

does not change

Will never change

With abundant praise

Constant thanks

For the rest

Replenishment

Restoration

as I honor our covenant

strenthen my commitment

Delight in this commandment

and partake of the celebration

on this day

That You have made for me

Knowing to do the works of the spirit

And follow your commandments

Like this Sabbath

Is not grievous to me

It gives me liberty, and

My hands to build the kingdom of heaven

Will  never stop working

I lift them up to praise you

Place them down to serve you

lift my pen to write what you have placed on my heart

this is the work that never stops

my hands always stay ready to be there for the needy

to provide comforting and nurturing and even healing

For we must walk in this night

but we are children of the light

Caesar will get His pay

but My God gets every day

especially the sabbath the day

And my heart , my hands my head are His to claim

Always

Faithfully
